Last high school Homecoming dance ever.

Seeing that this year is my senior year this is going to be the last year in High school for me for everything. Being a senior girl, we all tend to find the dances as being exciting and upsetting. We all love the school dances and this upcoming Saturday, sadly is going to be our last Homecoming. It feels like just yesterday that we went to our first Homecoming here at Alden High. Although this will be the last one I can attend, I know that I surely will remember them all throughout years to come. Knowing that this is the last one, it makes me want to truly enjoy this one. I want to go all out and just have a blast with my friends. I don't want anything to stop me. I pretty much want to add this onto my senior year, as the best year ever. One I won't ever forget! Yes it is sad knowing it's the end but I know this all has made me grow in such a strong way. Homecoming is a day and night to remember. The freshmen think high school years go by slowly, but there wrong. It goes by quickly and little do they know they should enjoy it as much as possible. Once it's all over there is no doubt that you're going to miss all of this and want it back. It makes me a little jealous knowing they still have three more homecoming dances, along with three snowball dances, and two junior senior proms ahead of them. However, I know that they will enjoy it and miss it all just as much as I'm going to. This upcoming dance I surely won't forget. High school is always going to be something I'm going to miss along with all of its events that it holds, but if it wasn't for Alden high school, I wouldn't be who I am right now, today.

Facebook communication.

I myself do use Facebook. I use it as a way to communicate with family and friends that I either hardly see, or haven't seen in a long time. I decided to get Facebook because of the fact that everybody in my family has one, and out of state and country friends have one. This way, I would be able to communicate with them through the internet and still keep in contact! Facebook has many positives and negatives. The positives are being able to keep in commute with people that don't exactly live close. You also get to share things with them. You can send photos to show them what's been new and going on, etc. I personally think that there is more negatives then positives. Some negatives have to do with unnecessary postings. Some people let their anger out into words and post them. Some also use it as a way of harassing or bullying. People don't also realize that Facebook can lead them easily right into trouble itself. Posting pictures or posts are for anybody to see. Whoever your friends with can see it and from there it can go to so many people. You never know who truly can see that. It's truly your choice on whether or not you use Facebook as a negative or positive thing. You control what you put on it. It's your own site, as soon as you click enter, it's out there. I always hear many people complaining or arguing over the fact that they got into trouble due to things on Facebook, but they honestly don't realize that they are setting there selves up by doing this. Now-a-days, people don't really think about their choices before they take action. If you're willing to say or put something out on Facebook in words or in the form of a photo, be sure that you can do that in person or say that in person. Using Facebook negatively causes a lot of unnecessary drama. I feel that many take it for advantage and use it as a mask to hide behind. It was created for communication and I feel like rarely anybody uses it for that anymore.

The future is just ahead.

This is the start of senior year for me which means, College. The main thing on the senior's minds' is college. We have a lot to get prepared for just for senior year alone. College stuff is just adding onto it. We have to make sure we have our formal and casual photos done, along with our senior quotes, remember when statements, and will's. Making sure these are all done and submitted in before the dead line is crucial. Senior year is supposed to be the best year ever and I'm almost positive that it will be. However, we have a lot to worry about for college. Guidance councelors are there to help us along the way but are also extremely nervous about it all just like we are. We have to start looking around, applying, and getting our letters of recommendation together. School may have just began but it's going to go by so fast and little do we know, college is right around the corner. Everything in high school instantly goes by and it's up to you to go with it. College is going to be a major change from high school. There will be a lot of maintaining that needs to take place. We will all have to balance everything all together. It may be hard at times but it's life. You got to go with it and learn!

Best moment of my life!

The greatest moment in my life I would probably have to say was in sophomore year. I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy and the doctors told me that I would have it for the most of a month. Turned out, I had it for an entire year. I remember I wanted to play basketball so bad but I didn't think I would be able to. The pains I got where horrific. I've never ever felt anything quite as painful before. I consistently had to go to check up's, constantly had to go to the nurse to get medicine, and I constantly got light headed and dizzy. It wasn't fun having Bell's palsy because I had to deal with people's comments that they said about it. Due to a doctor's appointment I missed basketball try outs but Coach Wieand luckily let me join the team anyways. Basketball has always been my favorite sport since I can remember and for once I finally got to be a part of my school's basketball team! I could remember like it was yesterday how hard it was to play in a basketball game with the horrific pains that I received. The first game I ever scored in I won't ever forget. That was the first day I ever had the pain's consistently throughout the entire day. I didn't go home from school because of the fact we had a home game. In the game, I sucked it up the best I could and kept trying to ignore it. One of the opponent team mates ended up knocking the ball out of my hand giving me two foul shots. I made them both. I could hear my family and the crowd cheer. I couldn't help but smile. I don't know how I did it still to this day but my very first shots made to give my team mates points in the basketball game was that day due to those two foul shots that I made while I held in the pain from causing me to mess up. Nothing better has ever happened to me and still to this day when my parents bring up my diagnosed Bell's palsy that year that stories the first that comes out of their mouths instantly!

Is it summer time yet?

My favorite season of the year would be summer because of the nice weather we get. I love being able to wear shorts and t-shirts, etc. It's always so nice and warm outside; you're pretty much open to do anything! In the summer my family and I do a lot. I'm always out playing basketball, or four wheeling. I tend to find myself outdoors as much as possible. I'm always keeping myself busy doing something! On top of that, my family and I also always go camping together. My family and I can spend hours outside in the nice heat! We always go swimming, do bonfires, etc. It's also the perfect time of the year to have any types of parties. The nicer it is outside, the more you can do! The first thing I think about when I hear summer, is flip flops. I think immediately about the change in clothing. I don't mind the cold weather but I'm not a huge fan of it. I like how you get some of those summer nights where they aren't extremely cold but they got a light chill to where you can go perfectly fine with wearing a sweater and shorts still. Being able to go out at night and continue doing whatever you'd like makes it just as much better. You don't have a limit due to the weather being cold or it getting too dark. You can be out pretty much wherever and whenever. Summer makes me get that feeling of freedom. Summer is all that every kid waits for. They start school and are immediately excited for summer! They count down until the last day of school in order for them to have summer break! Summer is always filled with memories that you won't ever forget no matter what! You always can look back, smile and laugh at any good times you had. I feel like summer time gives you much more fun options than any other season. However, I do like fall but definitely not as much as summer!

Writing inventory.

Something's that I feel comfortable writing about are personal things and/or school events. It's very easy for me to write about school events such as activities like sports, dances, spirit weeks, etc. When it comes to some topics that I don't know it's a bit more difficult for me to write about them, especially if they don't catch my interest or knowledge. One thing I am extremely interested in writing about is the girls' varsity basketball team once we enter basketball season. I’m interested in this because of the fact that I am on the basketball team. By being on the team, it's going to be very easy, fun, and interesting for me to be able to write about. When I know more of the topic, the better I can work with it and get it done. Either way whatever I write about I can get done no matter how much amount of work I have to put into it. I'm not extremely picky when it comes to writing on topics because I can easily get it done. I also would like to sometime write about some of the school functions like the dances. To me that would be easy to work on because I love going to the school dances and talking to people about preparing for them. It also interests me on how much time is put into the schools dances because it is a great time and it looks great! I truly don't mind what I write about; even if it's something I don't know much about. I can easily work with things and build up my knowledge of these unknown topics. I truly don't mind having to do some extra, more things to get to know about a specific topic. It’s easy for me to do research and talk to people so no matter what I end up doing topics on, I know I will be fine with it.

My favorite school year.

Thinking back on my years of schooling, I had fun every year. I can't recall one year that wasn't fun in any which way. No matter what you're going to have days that are going to drag on, be boring, and not be the best day ever. If I had to choose which school year was my favorite, I would have to say last year, my junior year! I would say my junior year was my favorite because mostly we knew this meant that we only had one year left until graduation! Although we only had one year left, it was also my favorite year because everything seemed like it flew by! I had a lot of fun classes both halves of the year and I had a lot of my friends in them! I also met a lot of new people that I never met before. On top of that, my sister, who is also like my best friend, was a freshman in high school. This meant I was able to see her in school. She would finally then be able to go to the high school functions with me, like the dances! She and I are completely a like in a couple of ways which made us both instantly know that the year was going to be quite fun and fast! I also liked being able to see some of her friends that I am also mutually friends with. My junior year in general was filled with a lot of excitement and fun to where it was gone before I knew it! I know people say your senior year is the best year ever and that you won't ever forget that year, which I'm sure is true, but it's too early for me to determine whether or not that is my favorite school year so until then, as of right now, junior year was my favorite.

2011-2012 school year!

This year, I hope to accomplish many things! Seeing how this is my last year as an Alden Senior, I want to gain and learn much more different skills. I hope to accomplish good grades that will help me when it comes to colleges, along with good skills that I can further more use in college and years to come! This year is the biggest year in high school that counts the most along with junior year. Being a graduate this year, I want to accomplish the most that I possibly can that I can take with me to college and also with me to my future jobs. I know not all the time do skills come in handy but it's good to at least have them in case I need them. Throughout my electives and main classes I hope to accomplish good reading, and writing skills! I also hope to accomplish a good school year filled with a lot of new learning and fun! I hope to make this year the best last year in High school possible. Anything and everything that I possibly can get out of this year I am willing to take and try my hardest for. I never know what I will need to help me in college or in the future so anything and everything is great! This school year, I also want to accomplish meeting new people and becoming friends with them. Not only from teachers, but from other students like myself, I would like to learn new things from that may come in use. Any information that I get throughout this entire school year I will be taking with me on into my new life adventure to help guide me. Any opportunity that comes my way I will be taking advantage of and I can already tell that this year is going to be a lot of help and a lot of fun!

My summer vacation.

This summer I spent most of my time with my family. We went camping in Allegany State Park for an entire week in a cabin like we have been doing for the past eight years. When we returned my parents worked weekly so my siblings and I stayed home and hung out together. We would swim, play basketball, play tennis, relax, etc. Camping ended late July and I knew that I had a certain amount of time until I was going to be super busy once again. I had only two weeks that I could hang out with my two best friends. Once August started I was extremely busy. I had my cousin's wedding the first weekend of the month and I was the maid of honor while my sister as well, stood up in the wedding. This meant I had to prepare for my speech. We were both extremely nervous but once it was the reception everything lightened up. I enjoyed being able to spend that time during the reception with the bride and groom. It was also a good time for me to get to see my aunts, uncles, and cousins. A few days after the wedding I had the Erie County Fair. My dad would sometimes let my sister and I show our animals in the 4H and on top of that we would help my dad promote his business in his booth inside the Bazaar building. The fair ran for eleven days so every day we would wake up super early, drive there, then drive back home. It was a drag but it was enjoyable and well worth it. I spent the rest of my summer relaxing with my family and best friends as much as possible. I also took advantage of my last chance to sleep in and stay up late at night before heading back to school once again for my very last year.
